Planting for Pollinators Workshop
Monday, June 17th, 1:00pm-3:00pm
OKC Zoo's Rosser Conservation Education Center, Auditorium
Celebrate National Pollinator Week in the Zoo’s Botanical Garden and learn what you can do to help pollinators from your own backyard! Monarch and other pollinator populations are declining drastically because of habitat loss and actions that compromise our native flora. Come and learn what you can do to help at this informative presentation led by our Oklahoma County Extension Master Gardener experts highlighting Oklahoma gardening that supports our pollinators. The presentation will be followed by a tour of our butterfly and pollinator habitat by Horticultural Curator, Lance Swearengin. The Zoo maintains one of the largest Monarch Waystations in the state, which includes native nectar and milkweed plantings. This is the perfect time of year to participate in this special tour of our butterfly and pollinator habitat. The Zoo’s horticulture team will be on hand in the garden to answer questions. All ages are welcome. Registration is $8.00 for members and $9.00 for non-members.
